Back from the Saint Louis University (Madrid Campus) 2009 International Graduate Colloquium. I met a great couple of people along the way, the three of us interwoven by Aravind Adiga's The White Tiger. Nice discussion and, surprisingly, same line of research: Carlos Garrido (University of Granada), Marjory Hutchinson (Saint Louis University) and what Carlos called IndiaS. The Many Indias Mumbay born Teezeehb Moistra (Saint Louis University) and I always end up talking about.
IN-between there were nice discussions and an excellent Bangladeshi tapas dinner at Lavapies (Madrid neighbourhood) with Carlos, all of this despite the exhausting first day of Colloquium.
As usual, the many Indian fossils came to surface and became evaluative and transformative, part of our own myriads of identity. The fossils Slumdog Millionaire unveils (a clip I was not able to show in my intervention and that I will try to upload soon), the many Mumbays in Mumbay, the many Indias and the many experiences that define our daily journey around the cultural dynamics of the postcolonial world (collaborative citizenship) we all live in.
